Why Use “Net” Capacity for Engineering Purposes?
T.O.P.S. Inc. recommends using “Net” capacity on all industrial style elevator buckets for “real world” engineering. Industrial products have high angles of repose due to their sluggish and dense nature, causing product to form a mound in the elevator bucket when loaded; which is also known as Net Capacity. This calculation allows for a more accurate, yet still conservative elevator bucket rating and has been in use for many years among engineers and bucket elevator manufacturers worldwide. Please don’t hesitate to contact T.O.P.S. Inc. for engineering recommendations.
